OH Leuven put in a commanding performance at Den Dreef on Thursday evening, beating Royal Antwerp 3-0 in the Conference League Play-offs. Henok Teklab was the night's standout, tormenting the Antwerp defence throughout before capping a brilliant individual display with the third goal.
The deadlock broke in the 34th minute when Abdoul Karim Traoré opened the scoring. Siebe Schrijvers, played in smartly by Youssef Maziz, made it 2-0 just before the break (44'). For Leuven, it ended a seven-match winless streak in the play-offs and delivered some long-overdue relief. For Antwerp, a third consecutive defeat has now mathematically ended their hopes of European football next season.
