Match Report
Standard Liège came from behind to beat OH Leuven 2-1 at Stade Maurice Dufrasne, with Henry Lawrence at the heart of a lively second-half turnaround that earned him the Player of the Match award.
Leuven drew first blood through Roggerio Nyakossi in the 40th minute, though the visitors' joy was tempered by the knowledge that a T. Nkada goal for Standard had been chalked off by VAR just seven minutes earlier. Lawrence levelled almost immediately after the break in the 47th, before Casper Nielsen completed the comeback in the 69th with a composed finish, assisted by Josué Homawoo.
The three points keep Standard Liège in strong shape in the Conference League playoff group. Leuven will rue the VAR drama and a lead that evaporated within minutes of the restart, leaving them empty-handed despite a competitive display.
