The Brazilian produced multiple key stops to preserve the clean sheet and deliver his side a place in the Round of 16. Volpi was at his best as early as the 10th minute, denying Jairo Concha with a brilliant low save. At the other end, Universitario goalkeeper Romero turned away a Florez effort on 79 minutes. Caín Fara blazed over from a rebound in the 75th, and Anderson Santamaría's headed free kick in the 85th was again smothered by Volpi. Álex Valera's late strike could only clip the bar.
