SC Braga vs Real Betis

A stunning backheel from Florian Grillitsch gave Braga the perfect start, but Real Betis hit back through a second-half penalty to share the spoils in a 1-1 Europa League quarter-final first leg at the Estádio AXA. Grillitsch opened the scoring in just the 5th minute, arriving at the near post from a corner to flick a spectacular backheel into the net. Betis levelled in the 61st minute when Cucho Hernández converted from the spot after Jean-Baptiste Gorby clumsily brought down Abde Ezzalzouli in the box, the foul earning Gorby a yellow card in the process. The draw leaves everything to play for in the second leg on April 16 at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville. Betis head home satisfied after snatching a leveller on the road, while Braga will rue not converting their electric opening into a more commanding first-leg lead.
