Match Report
Fiorentina won the battle but lost the war — their 2-1 home victory over Crystal Palace wasn't enough to overturn the 3-0 first-leg deficit. Palace march into the Conference League semifinals 4-2 on aggregate.
Ismaïla Sarr had Palace in front early, netting in the 17th minute to extend his remarkable six-goal Conference League campaign. Albert Gudmundsson leveled from the penalty spot on 30 minutes, before substitute Cher Ndour — named MVP — completed the turnaround in the 53rd.
A feisty night produced eight yellow cards — five for Fiorentina, three for Palace — but despite dominating possession at 66%, La Viola couldn't find the goals they needed to make it a real contest.
Crystal Palace reach the Conference League semifinals for the first time in their history. Fiorentina, despite the spirited fightback, are out.
