Rodina Moscow tightened their grip on automatic promotion with a commanding 3-1 victory over rivals Ural in a fiery Round 26 clash. A devastating three-minute blitz either side of half-time put the hosts firmly in control of this top-of-the-table battle.
Ivan Timoshenko broke the deadlock on 35 minutes before Artem Maksimenko doubled the lead just three minutes later, giving Ural no time to regroup. Yordy Reyna then converted a penalty early in the second half to make it 3-0 and kill the contest.
Nikita Morozov grabbed a consolation for Ural in the 90th minute, but it was far too little, too late. The referee had a busy evening, brandishing seven yellow cards across both sides.
The win extends Rodina's unbeaten run to 17 matches and opens up a four-point cushion over Ural in the race for automatic promotion. With just two rounds left, Ural now face the real prospect of settling for a playoff spot.
