Match Report
Lech Poznan won a spirited second leg 2-1 in Krakow but it wasn't enough to overturn Shakhtar Donetsk's commanding first-leg lead, as the Ukrainians progressed 4-3 on aggregate to reach the Conference League quarterfinals.
Mikael Ishak gave Lech hope with a towering header on 13 minutes before doubling his tally from the penalty spot just before half-time. The Swedish striker's brace levelled the aggregate at 3-3 and had Shakhtar rocking.
But a cruel João Moutinho own goal on 67 minutes restored the hosts' cushion and ultimately sealed Lech's fate. The closing stages turned ugly, with Shakhtar's Alaa Ghram seeing red for a second bookable offence in stoppage time.
Shakhtar will face AZ Alkmaar in the last eight, while Lech bow out despite a valiant display on the night.
