Match Report

PSG ripped Chelsea apart at the Parc des Princes, racing to a 5-2 victory in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie. Substitute Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stole the show with a devastating late brace that killed off any hope of a Blues comeback. Bradley Barcola opened the scoring on 10 minutes, but Malo Gusto levelled for the visitors with a half-volley in the 28th. Ousmane Dembélé restored the hosts' lead before the break with a blistering counter-attack finish (40'), and after Enzo Fernández hauled Chelsea level again on 57 minutes, the tie swung decisively. A costly error from goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen gifted Vitinha the go-ahead goal on 74 minutes. Kvaratskhelia, on since the 62nd minute, then hammered home from distance (86') before adding another on the counter in stoppage time (90'+3). Chelsea face a mountain at Stamford Bridge in the second leg, while PSG — the reigning European champions — have one foot firmly in the quarter-finals.
