Match Report
Independiente Medellín booked their spot in the Copa Libertadores group stage with a gutsy 2-1 win over Juventud at the Atanasio Girardot. Francisco Fydriszewski's towering header on 82 minutes proved the decisive moment, sealing a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Hayen Palacios gave the hosts an early lead in the 14th minute, heading home from a Fydriszewski cross. Juventud responded swiftly — Federico Barrandeguy bent a superb free kick into the top corner on 25 minutes to level the tie on aggregate.
With tension mounting, Fydriszewski rose highest to nod home and break Uruguayan hearts. The night soured further for the visitors when Ramiro Peralta was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge in the 90th minute.
Medellín become the fourth Colombian club in this year's group stage, while Juventud drop into the Copa Sudamericana.
