Algeria vs Uruguay

Match Report
Algeria and Uruguay played out a goalless draw at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Tuesday, in a cagey international friendly that failed to produce a single moment of real attacking quality. Neither side managed to truly test the opposition goalkeeper across a forgettable 90 minutes.
Defences were firmly on top throughout, with Uruguay dominating possession at nearly 59% but creating almost nothing with it. Federico Valverde started in midfield but struggled to find the pockets of space he thrives in, eventually being withdrawn in added time. Ronald Araújo and José María Giménez were barely troubled at the back.
For Algeria, the result was a decent step up after their 7-0 demolition of Guatemala on Friday. Amine Gouiri and Houssem Aouar showed flashes but lacked a final ball against a well-organised Uruguayan backline.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, both sides will take the defensive solidity as a positive — but the lack of cutting edge up front will concern both coaching staffs heading into the summer.
