Match Report
Guinea produced a remarkable late fightback to salvage a 2-2 draw against Togo in Thursday's international friendly at Morocco's Moulay Hassan Stadium. The Syli National looked dead and buried at 2-0 down before two goals in four minutes turned the match on its head.
Togo, under newly appointed coach Patrice Neveu, had taken control through a pair of penalties. Kevin Denkey opened the scoring from the spot in the 26th minute, and Idjessi Metsoko doubled the lead with another penalty on 83 minutes.
But Guinea had other ideas. Debutant Mamady Cissé pulled one back in the 86th minute before Serhou Guirassy rose to power home a header in the 90th, completing a stunning turnaround.
It's a result that will leave Togo ruing defensive lapses in the closing stages, while Paulo Duarte's Guinea will take huge confidence from their refusal to accept defeat.
