Match Report
Jordan and Nigeria played out a feisty 2-2 draw in Antalya on Tuesday, with Alex Iwobi's stoppage-time red card capping a chaotic friendly at the Mardan Stadium.
Musa Al-Tamari opened the scoring on 17 minutes before captain Moses Simon equalised nine minutes later. Debutant Emmanuel Fernandez then fired Nigeria ahead just before the break with a clinical left-footed finish after a fine cross from Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Jordan refused to lie down. Mohammad Al-Daoud levelled from close range in the 77th minute, and the closing stages turned ugly when Iwobi was sent off for retaliation in the 92nd minute, with bookings flying in the ensuing melee.
A mixed bag for both sides. World Cup-bound Jordan showed real fighting spirit, while Nigeria will rue a squandered lead and the late indiscipline that soured an otherwise encouraging display.
