Boeung Ket came away from RSN Stadium with all three points on Saturday, beating Phnom Penh Crown 2-1 in the CPL Championship Round. Mat Noron gave the visitors the perfect start, scoring just seven minutes in to put Crown on the back foot early.
Phnom Penh Crown chased the game after the break but were hit on the counter when Zabala Louis made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute. A Koy Salim own goal in the 83rd minute gave the hosts a lifeline, but Boeung Ket held firm to see out the win.
The defeat keeps Phnom Penh Crown second on 47 points but dents their title push, while Boeung Ket climb to fourth on 39 points. With Svay Rieng pulling clear at the summit, this was a match Crown simply could not afford to lose on home turf.
