Match Report

Morocco made it two wins from two under new boss Mohamed Ouahbi, beating Paraguay 2-1 in a friendly at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium in Lens on Tuesday night. A dominant second-half display did the damage after a goalless first half. Bilal El Khannouss broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart, finishing smartly from an Achraf Hakimi pass. Hakimi turned provider again moments later, teeing up Neil El Aynaoui to double the lead on 53 minutes. Paraguay thought they had pulled one back on 85 minutes, but VAR chalked off Omar Alderete's effort for offside. Gustavo Caballero did nod one in for Paraguay with a late header in the 88th minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation. A promising night for the Atlas Lions as they build momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup on home soil. For Paraguay, there is work to do before the tournament kicks off this summer.
