Canon vs Gazelle

Reigning Cameroon Ballon d'Or winner Serge Daura struck twice as Gazelle earned a gutsy 2-1 win away to Canon Yaoundé in Elite ONE Matchday 12. The visitors took control despite seeing just 36% of the ball at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo. Daura opened the scoring on 28 minutes, finishing coolly against the run of play. Canon dominated possession and racked up nine corners to nil, but the Garoua side's clinical edge proved decisive when Daura struck again in the 80th minute to double the lead. J. Oussama grabbed a stoppage-time consolation for the hosts in the 94th minute, but it was too little, too late. Canon will rue their wastefulness despite controlling 64% of possession. The result lifts Gazelle to third on 21 points, five behind leaders Unisport Bafang. Canon sit seventh on 16 points and face a growing challenge to break into the top four.
