Match Report
Germany signed off their final home match before the 2026 World Cup in dominant fashion, thrashing Finland 4-0 at a packed Mewa Arena in Mainz. Deniz Undav was the night's standout, finishing with a memorable brace.
Undav headed home from a Joshua Kimmich cross in the 34th minute, before Florian Wirtz pounced on an intercepted Finnish backpass just after the restart to make it two. Undav added his second in the 57th after a through ball from Lennart Karl, and Jamal Musiala capped a clinical display with a crisp finish in the 63rd. No red cards or penalties disrupted the evening, and Manuel Neuer's calf injury meant Oliver Baumann deputised in goal throughout.
The result extended Germany's winning streak to eight matches — an encouraging statement ahead of the World Cup. For Finland, who did not qualify for the tournament, the evening offered a harsh gauge of where they stand against Europe's best.
