Flamengo vs Coritiba
Match Report
Flamengo stamped their authority at the Maracanã with a dominant 3-0 victory over Coritiba, bringing the first half of the 2026 Brasileirão to a close in emphatic style. Samuel Lino was the evening's standout, opening the scoring in just the 11th minute to put the hosts firmly in control.
Lino bookended the scoring with his second in the 70th minute, while Pedro added a clinical strike on the hour to make it 2-0 and put the game to bed. The match had a dramatic edge earlier on when Pedro Rocha was shown a red card before half-time, though VAR reviewed the decision — controversy that did little to disrupt Flamengo's rhythm.
The performance is all the more impressive given Flamengo were navigating 12 first-team absences, the most of any game under coach Leonardo Jardim. Coritiba, sitting sixth with 26 points and carrying good recent form into this one, now head into the World Cup break having been well and truly outclassed.
