Atlético Mineiro vs Mirassol
Match Report
Atlético-MG returned to winning ways at Arena MRV, beating Mirassol 3-1 in Round 16 of the Brasileirão to ease some of the pressure on their season. The match had a dramatic first-half twist before the hosts eventually pulled clear.
Alan Minda broke the deadlock early, finishing off a Bernard assist in the 17th minute. Mirassol refused to go quietly, with Willian Machado — set up by Reinaldo — levelling before the break (40'). The equaliser didn't last long into the second half: Maycon stepped up and converted a penalty in the 61st minute to put Atlético-MG back in front. Mamady Cissé then wrapped things up with a third goal in the 82nd minute.
The result is a significant boost for Atlético-MG, who had been perilously close to the relegation zone heading into this fixture. Mirassol, still without an away win in the Brasileirão, remain 18th and face growing survival pressure.
