Corinthians edged a breathless Majestoso 3-2 at the Neo Química Arena, with Matheuzinho providing the night's most surreal subplot — scoring for the hosts and then turning a cross into his own net in the 89th minute to hand São Paulo a heart-in-mouth finale.
Raniele gave Corinthians an early foothold in the 17th minute, only for Luciano to level on 41' — capping a chaotic first half that included a lengthy VAR review of a Bobadilla incident and six minutes of stoppage time.
The second half belonged to the home side. Matheuzinho restored the lead on 52' before Breno Bidon made it 3-1 just five minutes later. Matheuzinho's unfortunate own goal in the 89th squeezed the margin back to one, but Corinthians held their nerve.
The three points are a timely rescue for Corinthians, who arrived at the Majestoso sitting 15th and desperate for points. São Paulo, 4th and with title aspirations, leave empty-handed from a classic they came close to stealing.
