Flamengo vs Bahia
Match Report
Flamengo made light work of Bahia at the Maracanã on Sunday, cruising to a 2-0 victory in Round 12 of the Brasileirão. It was a commanding home display that rarely felt in doubt.
Giorgian de Arrascaeta broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, finishing after Pedro cut through the Bahia defence and delivered the perfect assist. Arrascaeta was so thrilled he tore off his shirt — earning a yellow card in the process. Lucas Paquetá then killed the tie with a composed finish from a corner, putting the gloss on a dominant afternoon. Léo Pereira was also booked, but Flamengo held firm without any red card drama.
With coach Rogério Ceni suspended, Bahia were guided by assistant Charles Hembert, and the visitors never truly threatened to make their presence felt.
Three wins in a row now for Flamengo, who are climbing the table, while Bahia suffer a fresh blemish on what had been a fine away record.
