Athletico Paranaense vs Chapecoense

Athletico-PR kept their top-six push alive with a composed 2-0 victory over Chapecoense-SC at the Ligga Arena on Sunday, in Round 11 of the Brasileirão. The hosts dominated possession throughout but had to wait until the second half to turn their control into goals. Stiven Mendoza broke the deadlock at 57', pouncing on the rebound after Chapecoense goalkeeper Rafael had parried Kevin Viveros's shot. Viveros then got his own reward at 66', converting after a slick assist from João Cruz. Chapecoense struggled to threaten and accumulated several yellow cards — Yannick Bolasie, Eduardo Doma, and Neto Pessoa among those booked — though no red card was shown. The three points cement Athletico-PR in sixth place on 16 points, keeping continental ambitions very much alive.
