Coritiba vs Fluminense
Match Report
Coritiba and Fluminense shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at a packed Couto Pereira on Saturday night, in a result that cost the visitors the vice-leadership of the Brasileirão Serie A.
A cagey first half saw Fluminense dominate possession and even find the net through Serna, only for VAR to chalk the goal off for a foul in the buildup. The deadlock was finally broken in the 75th minute when Tiago Cóser latched onto a cross from Josué and finished coolly to send the home crowd wild.
Fluminense hit back five minutes later. Goalkeeper Pedro Rangel fumbled a free kick from Guilherme Arana, and John Kennedy pounced on the loose ball in the 80th minute to level the scores and spare his side's blushes.
The draw leaves Fluminense on 20 points but dropping to third, overtaken by São Paulo after their 4-1 thrashing of Cruzeiro. For Coritiba, a hard-earned point at home keeps them in the top half as the race tightens after ten rounds.
