Monterrey vs Guadalajara
Match Report
Guadalajara Chivas survived a breathtaking finale to defeat Monterrey 3-2 at the Estadio BBVA on Matchday 12 of the Clausura 2026. Goalkeeper Tala Rangel saved a last-gasp penalty from Uros Djurdjevic deep into stoppage time, sealing a dramatic victory for the league leaders.
Armando González opened the scoring in the 18th minute — his tenth goal of the season — before José Castillo doubled the lead seconds after halftime. Bryan González struck a spectacular effort from range in the 55th to make it three.
Rayados refused to go quietly. Djurdjevic pulled one back in the 88th minute and Ricardo Chávez made it 2-3 at 90+3, setting up a frantic finish. But when Djurdjevic stepped up for a penalty at 90+8, Rangel stood tall to deny him.
The win lifts Chivas to 30 points, firmly atop the Clausura 2026 table, while Monterrey remain stuck on 14. The Rebaño Sagrado march on.
