Match Report
Real Salt Lake made it five unbeaten with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City at America First Field on Saturday night. Diego Luna set the tone early, firing home a left-footed strike in just the fourth minute on his first start of the 2026 season.
Sergi Solans doubled the lead in the 56th minute — the rookie's third goal in four matches — before Dejan Joveljić pulled one back for the visitors just three minutes later. Any hopes of a Kansas City comeback were snuffed out when Zavier Gozo unleashed a stunning volley into the upper corner in the 82nd minute to seal the win. Gozo finished the night with a goal and two assists in a man-of-the-match display.
The result lifts RSL to second in the Western Conference with 13 points from six games, while Sporting KC remain rooted to the bottom on just four points.
