Colorado Rapids claimed their first road victory of 2026 with a ruthless 4-1 dismantling of Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park. Paxten Aaronson stole the show with his first MLS brace in a devastating team display.
Aaronson opened the scoring on 12 minutes, but Shapi Suleymanov hauled the hosts level before the break. Sporting's parity lasted barely a minute — Wayne Frederick restored Colorado's lead in first-half stoppage time with his maiden MLS goal. Rafael Navarro made it three on 71 minutes before Aaronson completed his double four minutes later to seal the rout.
The result lifts Colorado to nine points from five matches, while Sporting KC remain rooted on four points in 12th place in the Western Conference. After being outshot 17-8, Peter Vermes will have plenty to address before next week.
