Match Report
Houston Dynamo snatched a breathtaking 3-2 win over Portland Timbers at Shell Energy Stadium, with Mateusz Bogusz scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the 105th minute — while playing with 10 men. It was the Pole's first goal since his offseason move from LAFC.
Gage Guerra's penalty gave Portland a halftime lead after Jonathan Bond saved the spot kick only for it to bounce off the post and in. Guilherme Santos equalized in the 62nd minute — his third goal in three MLS games — before Felipe Andrade made it 2-1 in the 77th.
Kristoffer Velde leveled at 2-2 on 80 minutes, and Houston were then reduced to 10 when Nicholas Markanich saw red for fouling goalkeeper James Pantemis. But deep into 18 minutes of added time, Bogusz met Jack McGlynn's delivery to snatch all three points.
Houston move to 2-1-0 and close their three-match homestand in style. For Portland, now 1-3-0 and winless on the road, the early-season alarm bells are only getting louder.
