Chicago Fire vs D.C. United
Match Report
DC United pulled off a dramatic late comeback to beat Chicago Fire 2-1 at Soldier Field, with Tai Baribo converting a penalty deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points. The visitors looked dead and buried when Hugo Cuypers fired the hosts ahead from the spot in the 81st minute.
DC United refused to fold. Matti Peltola hauled them level just three minutes later in the 84th, before Baribo stepped up to coolly dispatch a second penalty of the night in the 95th minute, sending the traveling fans into delirium.
The result ends Chicago Fire's impressive defensive run — goalkeeper Chris Brady had kept back-to-back clean sheets heading into the weekend. For DC United, Baribo's latest strike marks his third goal in four games this season and hands René Weiler's side a first away win of the campaign.
