Orlando City vs Montréal
Match Report
Orlando City picked up their first win of the 2026 MLS season, beating CF Montreal 2-1 at Inter&Co Stadium in a match that saw all three goals arrive in a breathless 13-minute spell. It was the perfect start for interim coach Martín Perelman, who took charge just days after the club parted ways with long-time boss Oscar Pareja following a winless 0-3 opening.
Duncan McGuire broke the deadlock in the 18th minute before Montreal's Prince Owusu levelled just six minutes later. The hosts wouldn't trail for long — Martín Ojeda restored the lead in the 31st minute and Orlando held firm from there, despite the visitors commanding 65% of possession.
Montreal threw everything forward but could not find a way past a resolute Lions backline, with Eduard Atuesta picking up the only booking of the night in the 33rd minute as the hosts dug in.
The result lifts Orlando City off the foot of the Eastern Conference after their nightmare start to the campaign. For CF Montreal, a third defeat in four matches will be a growing concern as the early season slips away.
