New York City vs Colorado Rapids
Match Report
New York City FC cruised to a 3-1 victory over Colorado Rapids at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night, with Nicolás Fernández stealing the show with a first-half brace. The win makes it three from four for the hosts to start the 2026 MLS season.
Fernández opened the scoring in the 21st minute before doubling the lead right on the stroke of halftime. Colorado responded quickly through Darren Yapi deep in first-half stoppage time, but despite enjoying 59% of possession after the break, the visitors couldn't find an equalizer.
Talles Magno sealed the deal in the 85th minute, finishing off a counter-attack to restore the two-goal cushion and spark celebrations around the Bronx.
The result lifts NYCFC to 10 points atop the Eastern Conference after four matches, while Colorado slip to 2-2-0 heading back west.
