Match Report
Atlanta United got their 2026 campaign up and running with a convincing 3-1 win over Philadelphia Union at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Miguel Almiron was the architect, laying on all three assists as the Five Stripes snapped a three-game losing streak.
Emmanuel Latte Lath broke the deadlock on 28 minutes before defender Tomas Jacob doubled the lead just two minutes into the second half. The Union had a golden chance to claw back when Milan Iloski stepped up from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time, but his effort went begging.
Alexey Miranchuk sealed the deal in the 68th minute — once again teed up by Almiron — before Augustin Anello pulled one back late on for Philadelphia in the 87th.
The victory lifts Atlanta off the bottom with their first points of the season, while Philadelphia remain winless through four games.
