Al Ettifaq pulled off one of the Saudi Pro League's most dramatic comebacks, overturning a two-goal deficit to beat Al Qadsiah 3-2 in a pulsating Eastern Derby on April 5.
Julián Quiñones (33') and Mohammed Aboulshamat (35') had Al Qadsiah looking comfortable, but Al Ettifaq responded in stunning fashion. Jack Hendry pulled one back on 40', then Moussa Dembélé levelled just after the break (47'). Georginio Wijnaldum converted a penalty on 74' to complete the turnaround and make it 3-1. Quiñones grabbed a late consolation at 87', before Al Qadsiah finished with ten men after Gastón Álvarez Suarez was sent off deep in stoppage time.
The win lifts Al Ettifaq to seventh with 42 points, while Al Qadsiah, despite staying fourth, will rue surrendering such a dominant derby lead.
