Match Report

Benfica produced a stunning second-half comeback to salvage a 2-2 draw with FC Porto in a chaotic O Clássico at the Estádio da Luz. Trailing by two goals at the break, José Mourinho's side refused to fold — and Leandro Barreiro's 89th-minute volley ensured the spoils were shared in breathless fashion. Victor Froholdt gave Porto the lead on 10 minutes before Oskar Pietuszewski doubled the advantage just before half-time (40'). Benfica rallied after the interval, with Andreas Schjelderup converting a rebound after Dodi Lukebakio's effort struck the post (69'). Barreiro then volleyed home a cross from substitute Franjo Ivanovic to send the Luz into delirium. Tempers boiled over in stoppage time. Otamendi was shown a straight red card in the aftermath of the equaliser, and Mourinho himself was sent off following a furious touchline clash with Porto's coaching staff. The draw keeps Porto seven points clear of Benfica in the title race with eight matches remaining. Mourinho's men extend their unbeaten league run, but a first-half capitulation means they leave this derby with more questions than answers.
