Mallorca delivered a huge blow to Real Madrid's title hopes with a dramatic 2-1 victory at Son Moix on Saturday. Vedat Muriqi's stoppage-time winner sent the home crowd into delirium and left the visitors reeling.
Manu Morlanes opened the scoring in the 41st minute, firing a low shot past Andriy Lunin after latching onto a cross from Pablo Maffeo. Real Madrid pushed hard for a response and thought they had rescued a point when Éder Militão powered in a header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner in the 88th minute.
But the drama was far from over. Muriqi struck just three minutes later on the counter-attack to restore Mallorca's lead and spark wild celebrations across Son Moix.
The result leaves Real Madrid five points adrift of league leaders Barcelona with eight matches remaining. For Mallorca, it was a priceless three points in their battle to beat the drop.
