Atlético Madrid edged past Real Sociedad 3-2 in a breathless La Liga encounter at the Metropolitano. Nico González stole the show with a match-winning brace as both teams served up a thriller ahead of next month's Copa del Rey final. Alexander Sørloth fired the hosts ahead in the 5th minute, but Carlos Soler levelled almost immediately for La Real in the 9th. The second half was even wilder — Nico González restored the lead in the 67th minute via a Griezmann assist, only for captain Mikel Oyarzabal to equalise just sixty seconds later. González then sealed it in the 81st minute, heading home from Matteo Ruggeri's cross. The win extends Atlético's streak to three consecutive league victories, keeping them third in La Liga. Real Sociedad sit eighth, but both clubs now have one eye on their Copa del Rey final showdown on April 18.
