Match Report

Lyon survived a dramatic late fightback to claim all three points at the Groupama Stadium, beating Auxerre 3-2 in a pulsating Ligue 1 encounter. Roman Yaremchuk was the undisputed hero, scoring twice in a commanding display that earned him the man-of-the-match award. The Ukrainian striker broke the deadlock on 19 minutes, but Sinaly Diomandé levelled for Auxerre just before half-time (35'). Lyon found another gear after the break — Corentin Tolisso restored the lead (66') before Yaremchuk made it 3-1 five minutes later (71'). Bryan Okoh pulled one back in the 88th minute to set nerves jangling, but a red card for Ryan Kluivert a minute later extinguished any hope of an Auxerre equaliser. The result keeps Lyon firmly in the Champions League hunt after 31 rounds. Auxerre, meanwhile, remain in the relegation play-off zone with precious few games left to turn things around.
