Match Report

Eintracht Frankfurt traveled to the Volkswagen Arena and secured a composed 2-1 Bundesliga victory over relegation-threatened Wolfsburg on matchday 29, with a clinical first-half double doing all the damage. Oscar Højlund opened the scoring in the 21st minute, latching onto a pass from Ayoube Amaimouni Echghouyab, before Arnaud Kalimuendo extended the lead in the 32nd to put the visitors firmly in control. Wolfsburg's afternoon grew harder still as Jeanuël Belocian and Vinícius Souza were both booked — in the 30th and 59th minutes — while Frankfurt's Aurèle Amenda saw yellow in the 67th. Dženan Pejčinović, teed up by Adam Daghim, pulled one back in the 90th+7' but there was never enough time for a real comeback. For Eintracht Frankfurt, it was their first away win since November — a timely three points in their push for a European berth. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, remain mired in relegation trouble with the season running out.
