Match Report

Hamburger SV fought back from behind to earn a gritty 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg at the Volksparkstadion, despite being reduced to ten men in a dramatic second half on Matchday 28. Arthur Chaves gave the visitors the lead in the 22nd minute, finishing coolly to put Augsburg in control of a tight first half. Hamburg responded after the break through Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, who levelled on the hour mark with an assist from Robert Glatzel. The drama was far from over. Just four minutes after the equaliser, Miro Muheim was shown a straight red card for hauling down Kade as the Augsburg midfielder bore down on goal. Despite the disadvantage, Hamburg almost snatched it when Luka Vušković's header rattled the post. The point keeps both sides in mid-table, with Augsburg on 32 points and Hamburg a point behind on 31 — both comfortably clear of the relegation places for now.
