Match Report
Toulouse snatched a dramatic 4-3 victory at Stade Saint-Symphorien after Mario Sauer struck deep into stoppage time to break Metz hearts. The seven-goal thriller swung back and forth, with the hosts twice clawing their way back to level terms only to be denied at the death.
Aron Dønnum (6') and Yann Gboho (14') gave Toulouse a commanding early lead, but Metz hit back with quick-fire goals from Nathan Mbala (30') and Koffi Kouao (31') to draw level within a minute. Gboho restored the visitors' advantage just before half-time (45'+3') with his second of the afternoon.
The drama intensified late on when Giorgi Abuashvili (88') equalised for Metz, only for Lucas Michal to pick up two yellow cards in quick succession and leave the hosts down to ten men. Sauer capitalised in the ninth minute of added time, firing home to seal all three points.
The result leaves Metz rooted to the bottom of Ligue 1 on 13 points, while Toulouse climb to 11th on 34.
