Club Brugge made light work of KV Mechelen, cruising to a 4-1 victory at the Jan Breydel Stadium. Kyriani Sabbe was the star of the show, netting twice as the hosts stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead.
Nicolo Tresoldi opened the scoring inside two minutes before Sabbe struck in the 22nd and 37th minutes to put the game beyond doubt. Benito Raman grabbed a consolation for the visitors on 55 minutes, but Brandon Mechele made it 4-1 in the 71st to cap a thoroughly dominant display.
The result moves Club Brugge up to 63 points in second place, three behind leaders Union St Gilloise with the regular season winding down. KV Mechelen stay fifth on 45 points, but the race for the top-six playoffs remains tight.
