Match Report

Crystal Palace snatched a dramatic 2-1 home win over Newcastle at Selhurst Park, with substitute Jean-Philippe Mateta netting twice late on to complete a memorable Eagles comeback.

Newcastle looked set for three points after William Osula bundled in a 43rd-minute opener, latching onto Lewis Miley's ball that deflected off Maxence Lacroix. Crystal Palace levelled when Mateta headed home in the 81st minute after coming off the bench. The decisive moment arrived in stoppage time when Sven Botman hauled down Ismaila Sarr inside the box, and Mateta coolly dispatched the penalty into the bottom corner.

The win is only Palace's second home Premier League victory since November — a timely boost ahead of their Conference League quarter-final second leg at Fiorentina. For Newcastle, it's another damaging blow to their push for European qualification.
