Match Report
Udinese silenced the Unipol Domus with a composed 2-0 win over Cagliari, keeping their European push very much alive. The platform was built by goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who produced two stunning foot-saves in the opening half to deny the hosts early on.
The breakthrough came when Adam Buksa slotted home on 56 minutes after a well-timed ball from Hassane Kamara. Cagliari had already been denied what looked like a penalty — awarded for a Jesper Karlström handball before VAR overturned it — and Alberto Dossena saw a header cleared off the line by the same Udinese midfielder. Idrissa Gueye then settled it in the sixth minute of stoppage time, finishing a sharp Keinan Davis counter-attack to make it 2-0. A brief flashpoint between players from both sides followed the final whistle.
Cagliari remain on edge over survival, still needing Cremonese to slip up the following day to be mathematically safe. Udinese, meanwhile, hit 50 points — their best tally since 2012-13 — and are firmly in contention for a European spot.
