Pisa SC vs Cagliari Calcio

Arena Garibaldi - Stadio Romeo Anconetani
F. La Penna
2025/2026
Match Report
Pisa pulled off a remarkable 3-1 victory over Cagliari at the Arena Garibaldi, with captain Antonio Caracciolo netting twice in two minutes to seal only their second league win of the season — all while down to ten men.
Stefano Moreo opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 9th minute. Pisa's task got significantly harder when Rafiu Durosinmi was sent off for kicking out at Yerry Mina on 37 minutes, but Caracciolo had other ideas, striking twice in quick succession (52', 54') to put the game well beyond reach.
Leonardo Pavoletti pulled one back with an acrobatic volley on 67 minutes, but Cagliari's comeback hopes faded when Adam Obert picked up a second yellow in the 81st minute, reducing them to ten as well.
A precious lifeline for rock-bottom Pisa, who sit 19th on 18 points under new coach Oscar Hiljemark. Cagliari stay 15th on 30 points but will be concerned by a worrying slide in form.
