Vitória eased past Atlético-MG 2-0 at the Barradão on Saturday, with a brilliant free kick and a super-sub goal sealing all three points in Round 6 of the Brasileirão.
Renato Kayzer opened the scoring in the 20th minute, whipping a low free kick through the Atlético wall that left goalkeeper Éverson rooted to the spot. The hosts then lost Marinho to injury early on, but his replacement Erick proved the hero — cutting in from the right and beating Éverson with a clinical diagonal finish around the 70th minute to double the lead.
The win lifts Vitória to 11th on seven points, while Atlético-MG drop to 15th with just five points from six games. Galo have managed only one win from their opening six rounds, and the pressure is mounting to turn their season around.
