Match Report
Inter beat Venezia with two late own goals to stay level with Lazio
Inter left the Penzo with a 2-0 win over Venezia on Wednesday, but it took two own goals in three minutes to break a home side who had been the better team for long spells.
Venezia, bottom of Serie A, had two goals ruled out for offside. Lion Lauberbach was flagged in the first half after a free kick, and Akor Adams had a finish chalked off just after the hour. Yann Sommer was not needed much, but Provedel in the Venezia box was kept busy, and Marcus Thuram twice went close for the visitors, once with a header that hit the woodwork.
The breakthrough came in the 80th minute, when Matias Moreno slid in to meet a low Thuram cross and turned it into his own net. Two minutes later Carlos Augusto flicked on a Calhanoglu corner and the ball struck Redouane Halhal on its way in.
It was Inter's fourth league win in a row. They have 25 points, level with Lazio at the top, while Venezia stay last on 3 points after nine games.
