Sporting CP vs FC Arouca

Sporting CP looked set for a routine win at home but let a two-goal cushion slip away in a wild finish, settling for a 2-2 draw with Arouca. The standout moment was Arouca's late comeback after Sporting had spent over half an hour down to ten men. Gonçalo Inácio opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, and Luis Suárez doubled the lead just 14 minutes later, both goals born from quick, incisive combination play. The match turned when Zeno Debast was sent off in the 54th minute. Arouca pounced in the closing stages, with Jose Fontán converting a penalty in the 81st minute before Dylan Nandín leveled it in the 87th. For Sporting, it is a frustrating missed opportunity after such a dominant start, and the red card raises fresh discipline questions. For Arouca, salvaging a point on the road despite a two-goal, ten-man deficit is a genuine confidence boost heading into their next fixture.
