Rwanda vs Kenya

Rwanda and Kenya played out a goalless draw at Stade Amahoro in Kigali, a tense friendly that needed seven added minutes to finish. Clear chances were scarce, with the biggest talking point a frantic, foul-strewn finish as both sides pushed for a late winner that never arrived. No goals separated the teams, but discipline became the story late on. Kenya saw four players booked in the closing stages — Amos Wanjala, Mike Kibwage, Marvin Nabwire and Ryan Ogam, all cautioned between the 78th and 90th minutes — while Rwanda's Leroy-Jacques Mickels was also shown yellow. Both sides made wholesale changes, with Rwanda rotating heavily at the break. The draw ends Rwanda's four-match winning run but leaves them atop Group K in 2027 AFCON qualifying after wins over Liberia and Cape Verde. For Kenya, it's a small step forward rather than the win Benni McCarthy wanted, though a clean sheet and run-outs for fringe players offer some comfort after a winless qualifying start.
