Remo vs Bahia
Match Report
Remo delivered the shock of the Serie A season, hammering Bahia 4-1 at the Mangueirão to claim their first top-flight victory in 32 years. Gabriel Taliari's second-half brace was the highlight as the hosts came from behind to blow the league's only unbeaten side apart.
Everaldo had given Bahia the lead on 31 minutes, but Vitor Bueno levelled deep into first-half stoppage time. Taliari then struck twice in quick succession (48', 57') before Jajá completed the rout on 82 minutes.
Bahia's misery was compounded by a missed Luciano Juba penalty — saved by Marcelo Rangel — and a serious elbow injury to goalkeeper Ronaldo, who was stretchered off before half-time.
The result lifts Remo off the foot of the table to six points, while Bahia's unbeaten start to the campaign is over after seven games.
