Match Report
Rangers turned on the style at Ibrox, putting four past a beleaguered Aberdeen to close the gap on league leaders Hearts to just three points.
Tochi Chukwuani broke the deadlock on 35 minutes before Mikey Moore doubled the advantage early in the second half. Dennis Geiger briefly gave the Dons hope on 52 minutes, but Nicolas Raskin restored the two-goal cushion ten minutes later. Captain James Tavernier then sealed it with a trademark free kick deep into stoppage time.
Rangers dominated throughout, enjoying 62% possession and outshooting the visitors 18-6. Aberdeen picked up four bookings in a frustrating afternoon.
The win lifts Rangers to second on 63 points, three behind Hearts and two ahead of Celtic, who have a game in hand. For ninth-placed Aberdeen, marooned on 30 points, it was another chastening trip to Glasgow.
