Peru vs Spain
Match Report
Spain eased past Peru 3-1 at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, wrapping up their final World Cup warm-up in dominant fashion. The tone was set inside two minutes when Mikel Oyarzabal drilled a powerful strike from outside the box to open the scoring.
Pedri made it 2-0 on 32 minutes, converting a Ferran Torres cross from close range. Spain put the match beyond doubt early in the second half when goalkeeper Pedro Gallese deflected a Yéremy Pino chip into his own net. Peru's only bright moment came through Jairo Vélez on 66 minutes, calmly finishing after Marcos López slipped him through on goal. Oyarzabal had briefly gone down with an ankle knock at 29 minutes but shook it off to continue.
Spain head into the World Cup with confidence and cohesion firmly intact — efficient, controlled, and clinical. For Peru, rebuilding under coach Mano Menezes, it was a tough lesson, though Vélez's sharp finish offered a small but welcome consolation.
