Match Report
Napoli fought back from an early shock to beat Lecce 2-1 at the Maradona, with Matteo Politano ending a year-long Serie A scoring drought to complete the turnaround. Jamil Siebert had silenced the home crowd inside three minutes, heading in unmarked from an Antonino Gallo corner.
Antonio Conte's halftime double change proved decisive, with Kevin De Bruyne and Scott McTominay injecting fresh energy. Rasmus Højlund levelled within a minute of the restart, tapping in Politano's low cross from the right (46'), before Politano volleyed home from six yards off a De Bruyne corner to seal it (67').
A worrying moment came late when Lecce's Lameck Banda collapsed on the pitch in the 87th minute. He thankfully regained consciousness and was taken for hospital tests, but with all substitutions used, the visitors finished with ten men.
The win keeps Napoli third on 59 points, within striking distance of the top. Lecce remain 16th on 27 points, deep in a relegation scrap with nine games to go.
